I absolutely love fish, and I've only heard good things about Hook Fish. When it came time to find a restaurant for my friend and I to meet at, I suggested Hook Fish due to it's close proximity between both of our jobs. Now I haven't been to their location in the city so can't compare, but I enjoyed their Mill Valley spot! The restaurant is laid back, airy, and pleasant with both an outdoor and indoor dining area. Inside has a bar and is bit louder, while outside is a beautiful patio with heaters and spacious seating. It is a popular spot so be prepared for lines at times, though they do a good job at turn around. The service here is minimal and ordering is a breeze. Walk through the indoor area to the patio (if planning to dine in), order and pay at the register, let them know where you want to sit, then the food is brought to you. Of course I had to get what they're known for, Fish and Chips 2 Pieces. My friend also got the same thing. Now I don't often crave nor eat fish and chips, but we agreed that theres are so freaking good! You can clearly taste the freshness of the fish despite it being fried. The fish was mild and moist while the fries were crispy and airy! He liked the seasoning on the fries and the tartar sauce was great. For the price, it is on the higher end but for the quality it's understandable. It's dangerous that I work in Marin County and Hook Fish is on my commute because their food is delicious! I'm already itching to come back to try their tacos which are popular. The ambiance is lovely as well and I'd bring my pup here. Parking on the other hand isn't too bad, they have a gravel parking lot but I can see it getting filled up. The restaurant is easy to find off of Shoreline Highway.

Got here when they first opened since it sounds like they get busy and there was construction going on that closed half the patio seating. My mouth was salivating looking at the menu and decided on the fish tacos which I'd recommend having clean hands do because you'll be licking your fingers and picking up every last piece! My guy went with the fish and chips which had kind of small pieces but were so delicious along with the beautifully seasoned fries. I also loved we saw them filling up bottles with their house made carrot habanero hot sauce *more drool* Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon

Fresh fish is strangely hard to find but worry not my friends, this is where to get your fill for a filet. Five options of the fine catches the day I went and I dove right in for the Rock Cod from Southern Oregon. Let me tell you, it was served hot while still tender ( they must sous vide ) and placed over a bed of rice and beans and this purple salad that was an unexpected pleasure to accompany the dish. A bottle of Carrot Habanero sat at each table which caught my attention but which is now my favorite new sauce that I cannot compare to any other. Great Beers on Tap including Russian River and Pond Farm to name a few -I opted for a pint of the Laughing Monk West Coast IPA. I urge you to do the same.

What a nice find near Muir Woods! I love fish and chips, and this place does it so well! Perfectly crispy, not oily, fish with seasoned fries and a delicious tartar sauce. As others suggested, the plate was fabulous! I appreciated the balance of the components--rice, beans, pickled cabbage, and pico de gallo. The grilled fish was so tasty and fresh. After the fish was gone, we mixed the rest of the meal together with the sauce. Next time, we'll get extra sauce! If I lived here, I'd be eating here every week! We sat inside because we had our little ones with us, but the outdoors part was hopping! They have beers on tap, and we tried a nice kombucha. Parking is a pain, so patience is needed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back!
